Dr. Ouyang has longstanding interests in the research of immunology and molecular biology, with specific training and demonstrated expertise in areas of hepatic metabolism and liver inflammation. Dr. Ouyang primarily focuses on the identification of the key cellular effectors and regulators of the inflammatory response in metabolic/oxidative stress conditions including obesity, diabetes, non-alcoholic & alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH & ASH), fibrosis, and HCC. Dr. Ouyang has published in Cell Metabolism, Nature Communication, Science, Journal of Hepatology, Cell Death & Differentiation, Cell Reports, etc.. Dr. Ouyang is a member of American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), American Physiological Society (APS), and American Gastroenterological Association (aga). Research in his laboratory is supported by the National Institutes of Health and AASLD foundation.
