To study the clinical effect of oxymatrine on liver fibrosis induced by chronic hepatitis B. 64 patients with liver fibrosis induced by chronic hepatitis B were randomly divided into two groups. RIA method was used to measure the serum contents of IL-6, IL-8 and HA, LN, PC-Ⅲ in both groups (before and after oxymatrine treatment) . After treatment with oxymatrine, the serum contents of IL-6, IL-8 and HA, LN, PC-Ⅲ all significantly decreased (P<0.01) . There was significant difference between treatment group and contral group (P<0.01) . Oxymatrine may prevent and inhibit liver fibrosis.
