Objective To investigate the efficacy of Huju Yigan capsule in the treatment of chronic virus hepatitis on the improvement of clinical symphony and signs、recovery of liver functions, as well as inhibition of virus.Methods 120 patients with virus hepatitis B were randomly divided into Huju Yigan capsule group (n=70) and control group (n=50) .The patients of Huju Yigan capsule group were given Huju Yigan capsule fifteen pallets daily for one year.Control group patients received only conventional liver-protective drugs including: glucurolactone, Silybin Meghunine Tablets and vitamin C three times daily for a year.Results There was significant difference between the two groups in aspect of improvement of clinical symptoms and signs, recovery of liver functions, and serum conversion from positive HBeAg to negative and from positive HBV-DNA to negative (P<0.05) .The efficacy of Huju Yigan capsule group excelled significantly that of the control group.Conclusion The results significantly indicate that the method of using Huju Yigan capsule can improve clinical symptoms, recover liver functions and inhibit virus, besides these no serious side-effects were observed in all patients.
