To detect the expressions and significance of P21 WAF1/CIP1, PCNA, Ki-67 in HCC by tissue microarray assay. Immunohistochemic stain combined with histological pathology were used to observe the P21 WAF1/CIP1, PCNA and Ki-67 expressions in 61 cases of HCC and 50 cases of peritumorous tissues. The expressions of PCNA, Ki-67 were correlated with histological differentiation, whereas, the expressions of PCNA had relation with potential of invasion and metastasis of HCC. Expressions of P21 WAF1/CIP1, PCNA and Ki-67 may be related to the development of hepatocellular carcinoma and it is feasible to utilize tissue microarray for rapid, economic and accurate screening of clinical tissue specimens on a large scale.
