To explore the correlation between hepatocirrhosis and ABO blood group. The ABO blood groups of 640 cases of hepatocirrhosis patients were determined and compared with that normal controls. The results showed that:①The percentage of blood group A of Korean nationality patients whith hepatocirrhosis was significantly higher than that of its controls. The distribution of ABO blood groups of Han nationality with hepatocirrhosis has no significant difference, compared with its contrals.②The percentage of blood group B of hepatocirrhosis patients with primary hepatic carcinoma (PHC) was significantly higher than that of hepatocirrhosis patients without PHC, but the percentage of blood O of hepatocirrhosis patients with PHC was significantly lower than that of hepatocirrhosis patients without PHC.③The distribution of ABO blood groups has no significant difference between hepatocirrhosispatients of male and female. The results indicated that the distribution of ABO blood groups of hepatocirrhosis might be associated with the factor of nationality and whether complicated PHC, but not associated with sex.
