Objective To evaluate the serum C3、C4 levels in patients with hepatitis B.Methods 59 cases with hepatitis B were reviewed, their serum C3、C4 levels were measured.They were divided into different group according to pathogenetic condition.Their serum C3、C4 levels were compared with control group and with each others.Among 59 cases, They were divided into 3 group:group A (acute hepatitis B) contained 17 cases, group B (chronic hepatitis B) contained 30 cases, group C (serious hepatitis B) contained 12 cases.Group D (control group) contained 16 cases.Results There was no different in serum C4 levels in group A and group D (P<0.05) , others were significant different in both serum C3 and C4 (P<0.05) .The extent of serum C3 and C4 descend was correlated to degree of hepatic injury and immunologic function.Conclusion Serum C3 and C4 levels were important indexes to evaluate the liver function of patients with hepatitis B.It was close correlated to pathogenetic condition.
