The expression and significance of CXCL10 and CXCL11 in chronic hepatitis B patients

Objective To study the expression levels of CXCL10 and CXCL11 and its relationships with alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and HBV DNA in patients with chronic hepatitis B.Methods The serum levels of CXCL10 and CXCL11 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) , the levels of HBV DNA were detected by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) .Serum ALT were tested with automatic biochemistry analyzer.Results The serum levels of CXCL10 and CXCL11 in the patients with chronic hepatitis B were (123.38±88.37) pg/ml and (129.24±82.79) pg/ml respectively, which was significantly higher than those in normal controls (P<0.05) .In patients with chronic hepatitis B, the serum levels of CXCL10 and CXCL11 were significantly correlated with the serum level of ALT (r=0.739 and 0.597 respectively, P<0.05) , while wasn't correlated with the serum level of HBV DNA (r=0.244 and 0.242 respectively, P>0.05) .Conclusion CXCL10 and CXCL11 play an important role in inflammatory and immune injury, which mediate the chronicity of hepatitis B.
